Terry Kerr has been an actress and director, an educator and an arts administrator. She has performed in over 27 productions of Shakespeare’s work at American Players Theater in Spring Green, Wisconsin, traveled and taught with a mime troupe, voiced many roles in educational radio productions, and co-founded a small theater, Winter Theater of Madison, Wisconsin. She has led mime and theater workshops for elementary, middle school, high school and university students. For several years, Terry managed a Wisconsin Arts Board program in which 35 rural writers, performers and visual artists produced works of public art around the state. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison in Theater, Terry has also studied mime, Kabuki Theater, Commedia dell-arte, dance, circus arts and improvisation in academy programs. Terry was a member of the inaugural of the American Players Theater and graduated in the first class of the American Players Theatre Academy, a four-year professional apprentice training program in classical theater literature and techniques, movement and acting. She performed with the company for twelve years before joining the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture.
At Taliesin, Terry has managed the tour program, worked on School curriculum implementation, taught acting, improv, tai chi, and presentation skills, and directed over 20 productions. She is also a certified LearningRx trainer, serving as a personal trainer for cognitive skills, Education Director for Children's Theater of Madison, and President of the Spring Green Area Arts Coalition.
