Courses: Drawing to Understand

Daniel studied painting, drawing, and art history at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) receiving a BFA in 1984, and an MFA in 1988. His work has been exhibited at the Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago, IL; The Vermont Studio School in Johnston, VT; at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, IL; in a traveling group show in Columbia, South America; and at various galleries throughout the midwest.

Daniel teaches "Drawing to Understand" at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, encouraging students to use drawing as a means to an end, the end being an understanding of concepts through the fundamentals of composition, process, drawing as problem solving, and intuition. The ability to balance both right and left brain thinking is the ultimate intention of this class.

Daniel is also a musician. When not teaching drawing class, you may find him teaching classical guitar, or playing with a popular, local Madison, WI band.
