Speaker Program- Friday NEW INFORMATION
We have created a special all-day event by inviting several speakers who know Taliesin and are supportive of the School, its future and emerging role, to have a discussion of that future, and what roles schools noted for their particular vision and pedagogy play in a larger professional debate about architecture and architectural education. Also the legacy of major individual architects as it affects particular academic programs will be examined, along with the trend to embrace a broader public audience.

The format of this Symposium will begin with an exploration of issues and case studies of sustainability in architecture presented by Matthias Schuller, Engineer, founder and Technical Director of Transsolar, based in Stuttgart. This will be followed by moderated discussions between pairings of speakers: Donna Robertson, Architect and Dean of College of Architecture at IIT with Michael Rotondi, Architect and founding member of SCI-Arc, and Robert Fishman, Professor of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Michigan with Reed Kroloff, Architect, and recently named Director of Cranbrook. David Mohney, Architect and former Dean of the College of Design at University of Kentucky will be the moderator. The program will culminate with a panel of all speakers. This should be a very dynamic and interesting program. A wine and cheese reception with the speakers closes the day. We are offering AIA/CEU credits for this day.
