Ryan Hewson 's shelter is made of local materials: the structure is red oak wood harvested on a nearby farm, dried in a solar kiln, and cut on a portable mill. The siding and door were reclaimed from an old farm shack. The plastic roof is an agricultural product typically used for greenhouses.

Located between the field and the forest, the structure captures various moments in the progression between the two extremes, framing views into the depths of the forest on one side, and opening up to more expansive views of the field.
